Naming dilemma
Apr. 9th, 2014 10:52 amMy husband and I will most like start TTC next year. We've had our boy's name picked out for years now; Anthony William. My husband is the third Anthony in his family, and my dad is William. Goes well together, we think, and sounds nice.
Now, the dilemma.
We've always loved Emily for a girl. I've thrown around Amelia/Emilia, too, and he seems OK with those options. I'd like to give her the choice to have a longer name in case she'd like one....also I like all the nickname possibilities that Amelia/Emilia provides (Emma, Emily, Lia, Mia, etc). We've also thrown around Anna as another possibility. Which do you prefer? Anastasia isn't out of the running yet, either, or another longer form of Anna.
My real question is on female middle names. My husband's mom passed away when he was eleven, so we'd like to honor her in some way. Her name was Diane. I'd also like to honor my mom, too, who has played a major role in my life. My mom is Cecelia. Combining these two names together, the only somewhat realistic names I get are Ceane (Cee-ann) or Dilia. Which, I have no idea, just seem odd to me. I researched some and found that Maya means mother. Any thoughts on any of the suggestions above, or am I out of my league here, LOL.
