I actually went to high school with someone who named her daughters Jerzy and Jerny. I want to murder her.

Are they book characters or something? This baffles me. How did 2 separate people come up with those names if not from a book? (And even if they ARE from a book...WHY name the kids that?). Jerny is like a misspelled journey, so I'm ok with that. But Jerzy? Jersey cow and jersey sweater/pullover are the only things that come to mind there. And New Jersey. Not much better.

Is it sad that I think I'd be able to pronounce Zhyrhyla correctly? It seems like a combination of two of the students I have atm.

...and I actually like Philosophie, Marynn, Lync, and Zion. I'd never use them(except possibly Lync as a middle name).

I'd say Zhyrhyla as Zir-RHY-luh.

My favorite name from these lists is Random because it's just so random. :D

I died a little inside when I saw Xoeigh.

The Xo would be pronounced like Zoh and the eigh would be like Leigh without the L. ZOH-ee.

Most of those are totally out there, but what on earth is wrong with Judah or River?

Oh man, I read the STFU Parents post the other day and just about died. Zedyk and Daxtyn sound like they're right out of Star Trek--and maybe they are!

Ledjend is the worst of these, by far. Even worse than Legna, which itself sounds like a bodily function.

Legna sounds like some kind of strange LEGO brand knockoff.

I do like Tyden (& Xoeigh a little)

Daenerys is from Game of Thrones and i'll admit, i really like it.

River, Judah, and Rylynn dont bother me at all.

And i dont c anything really terribly wrong with Amethyst.

You know how if you knew someone with an odd name growing up, the name seems slightly less odd? I knew an Amethyst when I was growing up, so I'm having a hard time seeing that as a terrible unusual name, even though I know it is. Because I met Amethyst (Amy) when I was like five, and didn't know it was an unusual name. On the other hand, I never heard of the name Veronica until I was near 20, and I was like "what the heck kind of name is that?"
