[identity profile] pirahan.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

A girl I know isn't finding out the sex of her baby until it is born. The names they've chosen are Maygan or Mayson.

I think the names are nice when spelled traditionally.

I don't like Maygan at all.

Maygan changes the pronunciation slightly for me, and Mayson looks very feminine. I like Megan/Meghan and Mason though.

I'm not a fan of either name, even spelled correctly. Megan is pretty outdated and Mason is up there with Jaden as far as trendy names that need to die.

Excuse me. I'll be over here in the corner vomiting into the ficus plant.

Personally, I find Megan and Mason bland, generic names even when spelled correctly. Maygan and Mayson are terrible, but at least they aren't Meahgynne and Maysyn...

I don't like either of them. The improper spelling really does it for me. And I don't traditionally pronounce Megan like "MAY-gen", so it really messes with me.
