[identity profile] mysticamor.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
So my husband and I the other night started to pair up names to see if we could come up with any names that sound good together and to try to narrow our search for a baby girls names sooner. I don't know if it is working because we keep on seeing names that we like but this is what we have so far. And for the record I am not to fond of the name selene but he likes it so eh. *shrugs*

Possible first & middle names

1.Isis Isabella
2.Isis Kennedy
3.Isis Arianna
4.Isis Belladonna
5.Isis Damaris

1.Rhapsody Isabella
2.Rhapsody Arianna
3.Rhapsody Dreama
4.Rhaposdy Marcella
5.Rhapsody Belladonna
6.Rhapsody Damaris

1.Dreama Selene
2.Dreama Isabella
3.Dreama Arianna
4.Dreama Marcella
5.Dreama Belladonna
6.Dreama Damaris

We also like the name Aria but can't really figure out any names to go with it.

What do you all think?

While I think Rhapsody is a pretty name, I'm sure you'll get sick of it fast and so will your child. It seems like one of those spur of the moment, "Hey that sounds really pretty," type names. Those names usually end up not sounding so nice a couple years down the road. I also think "Isis Isabella" sounds too strange together. They both begin with "Is".

My favorite name off the whole list is Isis Arianna.

Isis Arianna is my fav.

I hate the name Dreama. My uncle's ex had a daugher named Dreama and she was total trash. She wrecked me on that name forever.

You have picked very unusual names, but I do like Isis the best. I don't know about the middle names, I find them a bit out of place? I do like Isabella for a first name. It's so pretty, my daughter's best friend's name is Isablella and everyone calls her bella for short. She's a very sweet little girl.

my vote

I like Isis Arianna. Depending, too, on what the last name is.

You know that Isis was an Egyptian Goddess, right?

P.S. I agree with the first commenter, but with all the names, except maybe Isis. Dreama and Rhapsody are the kind of names that might sound cute and unique, but you'll get sick of them. Isis Arianna would be my choice from all those names, but beware that unique names wear very thin very quickly.

I'm the same way as you with common names. I don't like to name my child that is really common. I named my daughter Jocelyn as its a very old name. Now with this baby, we're not wanting to know the sex of the baby...as it's fun to pick names and we've come up with Madeline Dorothy and Gabriel Maximilian.

Belladonna: A poisonous Eurasian perennial herb (Atropa belladonna) having usually solitary, nodding, purplish-brown, bell-shaped flowers and glossy black berries. Also called deadly nightshade.

sorry, i really didnt mean it in a horrible way it's just that was the first thing that popped into my head when i read belladonna. Bella on it's own is lovely...maybe you could use that as that means beautiful. I just thought you might like to know what else it means, if you were thinking of the name.
Sorry if i caused any offence.

Because I'm a geek and studying pharmacology...

The belladonna plant got it's name because it was used to make women beautiful; extract from the plant was used in medeival times to dilate the eyes of court ladies, and big, wide, dilated eyes was considered to be a very beautiful trait. Nevermind the fact that the dilated eyes made it virtually impossible for these women to actually see...they were HOT!!

Anyhow, that's where it's from. The belladonna plant extract made women beautiful. It's the same chemical that is used today to dilate your eyes when you have an eye exam.

I'll stop being a dork now.
