baby naming dilemma
Oct. 8th, 2013 05:45 pmI need your expert opinions! I am currently pregnant with a little girl, which I thought would make picking a name a piece of cake, but I had not counted on my husband changing his mind. Initially, before becoming pregnant, we had always thought Margot Elise would be the name of our first daughter. We both loved the name and the fact that it was recognizable but not commonly used. However, recently my husband has been having second thoughts. We both have a number of Margarets/Marges/Marjories in our families. The only one we see w/ any regularity is my step-mother, who is a Margaret; the rest we MIGHT see every few years, and they are all extended family (aunts, cousins, etc.) However, he now feels Margot is too close to all these other names and a few people have agreed with him. Problem is, I'm having a hard time seeing any other name on our future child.
Here is a list of the names we are currently (I'm leaving Margot on the list as it's not been totally ruled out yet). The middle name is set in stone; it's a family name that has been passed down for generations. Our last name is two syllables, British in origin, and starts w/ the letter F. Would love opinions and suggestions! And if it helps, our backgrounds are german, swedish, english/scottish, and jewish, so bonus points for honoring one or more of those nationalities.
Margot Elise F.
Freya Elise F.
Imogen Elise F.
Tovah Elise F.
Odessa Elise F.
Thora Elise F.
Tamsin Elise F.
Thanks in advance!

Other suggestions:
Tina Elise
Laura Elise
Marya Elise (sounds close to Margot, but I'm not sure if that's good or bad)
Shira Elise or Shayna Elise or Leah Elise (Jewish roots)
