[identity profile] daydream11.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
So I'm working on character names for my NaNoWriMo novel, and I'm running into the "I need names that sound well together but don't get confused with each other" issue. Visually, Rowena and Morgana don't look alike, but lyrically they kinda sound similar (roh-WHEN-a and more-GAHN-a is how I'm pronouncing them). Thoughts? Would it be too much for two characters that share the same space in a story?

So long as they don't start with the same letter, I don't give a crap how similar the names are! Apparently that's how characters get filed in my brain.

Are they siblings? They do seem to match in 'naming style', and I'd totally buy that they'd be on the same person's 'potential names' list.

In the UK, at least, Rowena is Row-EEN-na.

I'm in the US and that is how I've always pronounced it as well.
