New Cousin.

I just found out what my aunt will be naming her daughter who will be born in the next 2-4 weeks (they might induce a little early).

Brooklyn Grace

The story behind it is that she loved the name Brooke but he wasn't about it. As it turns out his mother's name is Linda which my aunt isn't crazy about but she does like Lynn, so they are combining the two to make Brooklyn. And he loves the name Grace and my aunt likes it but didn't want it as a first name.

She also mentioned that they will actually be using Brooklyn - not Brooke as a nickname. That being said, knowing my family... she'll likely end up being called Brookie a lot.

I like Grace better than Brooklyn but I do like both names - just not sure how I feel about them together.

Her older siblings are Carlie Marie and Joey.

It's pretty boring. Just average, trendy, plain name.

I really, really do not like Brooklyn. I don't like the sound, the fact that it's a place name, or the fact that it also follows the name+lyn trend. Grace is okay, but it is pretty popular as a middle name, so the whole combination comes off as very standard trendy. I don't like Brookie either. It reminds me too much of "bookie." Brooke is okay though.

My 29 year old sister is Brooklyn - she was actually named Brooke at birth but her middle name (which she shares with her two sisters and our Mum) and our last name were both one syllable, so after a few months my parents decided to add a 'lyn' on the end. We call her everything from Brook (with no e), Brooka, Chook but she's Brooklyn for the most part.
