Faves?

Hello!

I've been AWOL from livejournal for a while so I thought I'd stick my head back in to my favorite community. Still not making babies, but still a nameaholic lol! I scrolled back a month to make sure I was not being repetitive - my name lists have been unchanging for a long time and I was wondering if anyone would care to share their top names/combos? Just curious to see what's out there!

Well, yes!

Boys
Nathaniel Charles* (nn Nate)
Nathaniel Henry*
Nathaniel Joseph
Noah Matthew**
Joseph
Isaac
Levi
Elisha
Judah

(They're not all intentionally Biblical; I just happen to really like Hebrew boys' names. Haven't thought through middle names for all of them.)

*Charles Henry is my dad's first and middle name.
**Matthew is my brother's first name.

Girls
Claire Lorraine*
Claire Yvette**
Chloe Yvette
Savannah Yvette
Emma Lorraine
Vivienne Lorraine*
Olivia Caitlin***
Nora Charlotte
Abigail Alice (nn Abby)
Abigail Charlotte (ditto)

I also do like the name Philippa (nickname Pippa, and yes it is from Kate Middleton's sister), but I'm pretty sure that won't fly in my family.

*My maternal grandmother's name was Vivian Lorraine.
**My mother-in-law's name is Yvette.
***My sister's first name is Caitlin.

Kind of torn at the moment! George is my top choice but a) it's set to skyrocket and b) I can't really find any middle names to go with it that don't sound awkward with my last name! My other choices are Jack William (maybe) and Oliver Daniel.

For girls I think my top choice is Eleanor Gwendoline (Gwendoline is my Nan's name.)

Too many names I love, I can't decide!

I have two sons already: Benjamin Jacob and Timothy James. If we have another...

girl: Abigail Elizabeth or Abigail Juliette (I think Abby flows well with Ben and Tim, my MIL is Julie)
runner up: Natalie
Our girl name was Olivia Lillian. Now, eh, its a good thing we had a boy since I'm not wild about it anymore.

boy: Thomas Joseph or Joseph Thomas (Thomas is my great grandfather, Joseph is my husband's middle name)
runners up: Alexander

I already have Wren Melissa and I'm having a hard time coming up with a girl's name that I love as much for the next one. Currently thinking Sylvie Juniper, though I'm worried people will think it's Sylvia, which I don't like at all.

Top boy combo is still Willoughby Jonathan, with Miles James as a close second, though I may swap the middle names round to balance the lengths a bit.

Well I'm pregnant so I've got two top runners (we find out next week if this baby is a he or a she)

Rosemary Neva
Louis Wilson

We aren't 100% on the middle name. Louis William is another option. Maybe even Louis Washington.

Other names we considered (lots of playing around with a middle name for Louis):
Louis Emerson
Louis Everett
Louis Arthur
Louis Evander
Henry
Calvin
Malcolm
Lachlan
Theodore - I was pretty set on Theodore Wesley
Dean
Julian

Eleanor Neva
Gwendolyn (or Gwendolen, can't decide)
Cordelia
Clara
Juliet (maybe even Julietta, after my great great grandma)
Luella as a middle name

I like a couple of different styles of names, so I have two general favorite sibsets. I say general because I'm playing with the middle names some still.

Tristram, Benedict, Cordelia, and Genevieve (thinking about swapping Genevieve out for Hermione or something. Just not sure Genevieve fits.)

Possible full combos include:
Tristram Louis / Tristram Xavier (I use the ig-ZAY-vyer pronunciation.)
Benedict Hugo
Cordelia Grey
Genevieve True / Genevieve Helena / Genevieve ???

Going farther over the top, we have:
Tristram Louis Xavier
Benedict Hugo Ignatius
Cordelia Edith Jane (Edith Jane for my grandma Edna Jean)
Genevieve Hermione Grey

I love all of the names there, but I think Edith Jane makes Cordelia seem more down to earth, and the other names are so romantic or aristocratic sounding, so I'm not sure that works. But I am totally in love with Cordelia Edith Jane and I would love to honor my grandmother.

In other news, I still love Callum Robert.

Callum Robert
Margaret Maeve / Margaret Louise
Hamish Clark / Hamish ???

Hamish has been on my list of names I like before, but it was never a top favorite; however, it is currently one I am absolutely in love with. It's pronounced HAY-mish. I know I've seen confusion over the pronunciation even here. I don't have a name for a second girl in that set, which is bothersome.

I am also in the no kids but name-obsessed camp
I'm very fond of James, but I've had to nix it, since our last name starts with an S,

Some of my favorites:

Harold Morgan (also not happened with our last name)
Harold Paul
Paul August
Gregory Paul

Morgan Elaine

Eliza Sophie - possibly Elizabeth nn Eliza
Daisy Madeleine
Isla Catherine
Isabella Kate
Charlotte Eloise
Lydia Rose

Xander Lewis
Cian Patrick
Joseph Elliott
Declan Oliver
Nicholas James "Nico"
Oscar John

My current faves are Eleanor, Hadassah, Freya, Daphne and Lilly for girls; and Evan, Dean, Morgan and Alastair for boys. Middle names aren't really set in stone. The boys don't really have any middle name options at all because boys names are kind of hard for me, but the girls have several options depending on the naming tastes of my future baby daddy, although I am pretty stuck on the combo Hadassah Charlotte.
