A friend of mine, whose husband is East Indian, is pregnant with twin boys and is due any day now. I had a dream that she named her sons Vikram and Nicodemus, aka Vik and Nic. It'll be exciting to find out what names they actually pick IRL! :D

Anyone else ever dream the names of their kids or someone else's? What's the best/wackiest your subconscious has ever come up with?

In my dreams, my mum got pregnant with a girl and called her Nanny and my neighbour opposite had a girl and called her Fruit.

Vikram and Nicodemus: pretty cool. Vik and Nic: not so cool. lol.

I once dreamt that I was having a child with someone of Italian descent, and he insisted on Italian names. He also insisted on picking the first name, so I got the middle. The combination ended up being Carlotta Sofia, which I think is pretty gorgeous together, despite not being a fan of Carlotta in general.

I know that when my sister-in-law was last expecting, before they knew the sex, I had a dream that it was a girl, and they named her Margaret, which was my favorite name at the time, so I was absolutely crushed in-dream that they used it. Margaret still is a favorite, but they have assured me they have no intention of ever using that name. :P

As far as the wacky ones, I know I once dreamed of a boy named Cereal Roberts (first and middle). I'm pretty sure there was once a child named Vacuum as well.

I'm pretty sure I have had more dreams with names in them over the years, but I can't remember, darn it!

I had a dream once that my husband and I had a daughter, and we named her by combining Allison and Addison. So it was Alladison. LOL. How dumb. All I can think of is Aladdin.

Many many years ago I dreamt I was having a baby (at that moment in the dream). After Mum asked me what his name was, Dream Me thought and picked on Jonathan because "no one in the family has that name". This was codwallop since my eldest cousin is a Jonathan and as my mum and his are twins, we grew up very close... I since married a Jonathan too. Très Odd the brain sometimes :D

Once, I was dreaming about looking for a little girl and eventually (it seemed to take aaaages for Dream Me to realize this) it became clear she was my daughter and named Inca, which came totally out of left field to Awake Me in the morning...

Considering I don't want kids EVER, even having a dream that I was pregnant is outlandish enough. I dreamt I had a daughter named Eva and a son names Ezekiel, Zee for short. I think Zee is a cute nickname but I'm not sure Ezekiel is that great of a name to throw on a kid, haha. Eva is fine, not something I totally love.

I once had a dream that I was pregnant and my college roommate wouldn't allow me to keep living in our room unless I named her Angeletti. I don't even know where my brain got that name from.

When I was pregnant with my first, I dreamt we named her Ophelia, with the nickname Phelix.

Despite several posters here insisting they love the name Ophelia, I worked in theatre for several years, and I could never saddle a child with that name, due to her character in Hamlet.
