Help me narrow down some choices

I have my final list of six per gender and need some help narrowing down some choices. Last name is a double L sound if that's relevant. I also come from a really big family (my mom has 40 cousins) so a lot of names are 'taken' (I don't want anyone to think I'm 'stealing' or 'encroaching' on their name.

My favorite name for a boy is George and for a girl it's Georgia. I'm likely to only have one child but if I had two I obviously won't be naming them George and Georgia! So I really need to pick just one.

George is pretty much a go as I have no-one else in my family called George, however my family think George is too stuffy/boring/old-fashioned (and what they think means a lot to me.) Plus, every middle name I can think of that goes with George definitely makes it sound stuffy (considering George Henry, George Tobias, George Harry and George Noah.)

We have two other Georgia's in my family, both of whom are tearaways/black sheep so I feel my immediate family would not approve by association. Considering the middle names Penelope, Charlotte, Gwendoline (my Nan's name) or Kaylee to go with this. Could I instead go for Georgina and could it be acceptable to shorten it to Georgia if I/we wanted to? I like Georgina paired with Violet, Phoebe, Grace or Hannah.

We have some fairly solid traditions in our family. Until the last generation the oldest boy from my Grandfather's family was named James but I have a cousin called this. I quite like James William (William was the name of two of my great-grandfathers) so I think this could work. I also like James paired with Edward, Mason and Ryan. For girls, a lot are named Selena but again, one of my cousins is called Selena. Also the oldest girl of the generation gets the middle name Rose but I don't want people to think I just picked Rose because it was a filler nickname.

Other names I like but they are 'taken' by friends and family are Jack (middle names Ethan or Miles,) Aidan (middle name Caleb,) Oliver (middle name Barnaby, Theodore, Nicholas, Frasier or Owen) and Thomas (I can't find a middle name I like yet.)

Names I like that I don't know anyone named are Eleanor (my family approve and say it's pretty! middle names Kate, Quinn, Scarlett, Mae or Lucy,) Poppy (unsure of middle name,) Amelia Abigail and Rosie Louisa.

Any and all opinions/comments/criticism very welcome!

I think prefer Georgia over George, not sure why? Though I think calling a girl Georgie is adorable :) George Tobias is a good combination though.

Eleanor is beautiful and it would be lovely with Grace. Grace is a definitely middle name for any child I have, same with Rose. They're my two grandmother's names.

I like Rosie Louisa, but I'm biased XD I barely hear my own name anywhere [Louisa] and Rosie is my aunts name. There is a lot of Rose, Ann and Mary in my family on my mum's side and I'm not sure how deliberate it was!

If there are two Georgia "black sheep" in the family, I would probably avoid it. I'm not crazy about any of the middle names paired with it either. Georgia Charlotte sounds alright, but with Georgia being a southern state and Charlotte being a well known city in North Carolina, the combination sort of screams southern place name to me.Georgina to Georgia makes enough sense to me, but I would think the familial Georgia association would still stand. Georgina Violet and Georgina Grace both sound nice.

I understand that your family's opinion matters greatly to you, but I imagine they would get over that association once they had a precious baby to love. I really quite like George Tobias.

James William and James Edward are nice, if a bit bland. James Mason was a famous English actor, who was also in some American films.

I don't think Rose sounds nearly as filler as Grace. It may depend on where you live, but I feel like I've seen Grace a lot for a middle name. Anyway, the fact that Rose is a family name would save it from being filler.

Jack Ethan is a nice combo. I'm so over Aidan thanks to all of the spin-offs, and I think there's something off about Aidan Caleb anyway. Barnaby is awesome, but I'm not completely sold on it with Oliver. If I were to order them, I would say Oliver Nicholas, Oliver Barnaby, Oliver Owen, Oliver Theodore, and Oliver Frasier. Theodore is only ranked so low because both names end in an "r" sound. How about Thomas James, Thomas Clark, Thomas Gideon, Thomas George, or Thomas Nathaniel?

Eleanor is lovely. I really like Eleanor Kate. Quinn still seems like a male name to me, despite the recent popularity of using it on females. I also feel it doesn't vibe right with Eleanor. I wouldn't do Eleanor Mae because it makes me think of Elly May from the Beverly Hillbillies.

I don't care for Poppy, but how about Poppy Louise, Poppy Jane or Poppy Josephine? I don't care for Rosie as a given name. It seems too juvenile.

Hmmmm..I like...

George Martin
George William
George Edgar
George Edward
George Mason

Georgina Grace

James William
James Edward

Oliver Barnaby (I do not know why, but I like it)
Oliver Owen

Thomas Edward

Eleanor/Eleanora is like my fav name ever for a girl right now! I like Eleanor Quinn and Eleanor Mae the most from your options.

Amelia Abigail...I immediately think of Aristocats! Lol I seriously just watched that like 2 days ago. "Ameee-e-elia! Abigaillll!" *wild drunken flapping from goose uncle* I do like both names though, together as well.

Rosie Louisa reminds me of one of the names I was contemplating recently Rosa Lucia. But I think I'm leaning towards the version of Rosalyn/Roslind now. Amelia was actually a middle name I was considering :p

I love Georgia for a girl and HATE George for a boy. It's too old-man to me. Eleanor is nice but I dislike that spelling. Poppy is adorable. Amelia is eh, Rosie is nice. James is nice!

My biggest piece of advice is not to care so much what your family thinks and go with what you want. lol
