Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott and husband Chris Tyrrell are the proud parents of a baby girl named Eisele Kaye. According to People, the little one was born Monday [morning] in Nashville.

A rep for Scott told People that the baby's unusual name is pronounced "Eyes-lee." Her full name comes from a combination of her paternal grandmother's maiden name and maternal grandmother's middle name.

I read it as "Eye szell". They couldn't have spelled it Eisley or even Eislee?

Agreed. Don't mind the pronunciation (not sure it's my style) - but I HATE the spelling.

I thought the same thing. It would definitely work better spelled Eislee. But I was wondering if it is a French name. I love the pronunciation any way.

That was my first thought, too. I went, are they music people, not art people?

I figured that it was German (with an odd spelling) until I read the pronunciation.

I thought it was a strange German name too at first. Then, I read the pronunciation, and now, all I can think of is Mos Eisley (the spaceport on Tatooine in Star Wars).

I actually kind of like it. I've seen Eisele as a surname and thought that was rather pretty too, but never thought about it as a first name.

Could be worse...they could've actually gone with Easel! ;)

Kudos for honoring both sides of family, but holy fail. Spelling is terrible.

I find that spelling kind of obnoxious. Do they really look at it and think people are going to have a clue that it's "Eyes-Lee" and not "Easel" or "Eye Zell" as someone here already mentioned.

For goodness sakes, people - You shouldn't have to have a rep confirm how to pronounce it!

I definitely thought it was a different spelling of a German named, that I pronounced in my head as Isel, lol.

I tried to say the word easel but then maybe make it sound more name-ish so more like "ee-zsell." I would NEVER pronounce that name the way they spelled it. I don't even get it...

Not a big fan of the spelling. Makes me think of the band Eisley but not spelled "properly".
