The niece of a friend is expecting a baby in a couple of months. It's a girl, and she has chosen Camilla Mahalia as the name. She joins Amarah Jude as the second grandchild in the family. Opinions?
I like Camilla, but Camilla Mahalia is a bit of a mouthful. I think it's the double -a ending. I like Amarah Jude. It's unique, but not in a stupid way (well, maybe the -h on the end).
Camilla is lovely. Mahalia, apparently means "Tender one" in Hebrew. I personally don't like it, the pronunciation of it paired with Camilla is pretty bad.
I immediately thought of Mahalia Jackson. Very positive associations there! Camilla Mahalia is a mouthful but I doubt people will say her middle name often, and both are pretty.
