I'm a scatter brain anyway, but early pregnancy is not kind to me.

For a boy, I am completely in love with Camden James. Would be younger brother to Austin Alan.

What do you think?

Also girl names are really hard for us. :)

Edit : girl names we like include Elise, Caroline, Josephine (Josie), Norah, Emmalin, etc. More traditional names. While I'm trying to avoid top 20 names, being in the top 200 doesn't bother me.

Another boy name we like is Beckett.

Hm, as someone from the Northeastern U.S., Camden to me is Camden, NJ, one of the highest-crime cities in the nation.

And Austin is a city, too, so to me those don't work well together.

Camden is a nice-sounding name, but again, my mind goes to that city right across from Philly.

That said, if you love it, you love it.

(Btw I never even heard of this used as a name -- again, perhaps because living most of my life in the NYC area -- but I just Googled it and see that it's shot up in popularity recently, and is now in the top 200 names. Not sure if this is a plus or minus for you.)

I believe Jay Cutler (Chicago quarterback) and his partner (another celeb) Kristin Cavallari had a boy name Camden. I think it has the potential to become super popular because it's a new -den ending name.

I'm in NYC and Camden, NJ was my first thought as well. I know celebs have used it but it doesn't mean it's great, like Brooklyn and London I feel yuck about them. Paris only gets a pass because of it literary history. Besides that, Camden is one of those names that I see going the way of the -aiden names, being everywhere. In recent months I've heard it a lot. James is a great name. As for girls I like Dahlia, Lila, Julia, Ava, Maeve. What is your girl naming style? Give us ideas of what you do like so we can help.

Came here to say the same thing - I definitely don't have positive associations with the name Camden, especially with a brother named Austin. I'm in NYC too and I don't think anyone from here would name their kid Camden.

I love Austin. I much prefer Cameron to Camden, though. I think "Cam" is a cute nn.

I'm not a huge fan of Camden James but I don't think it's bad. I prefer Cameron James. Austin Alan is nice... both are names in my family. I think Austin and Camden sound perfectly fine together, but I think Austin and Cameron would sound even better. :-)

Also, I think I'm just "over" the -den ending names. They are so very trendy right now--which is probably why I like Cameron vs. Camden.

I really think it's one of the better -den names. It's definitely one of the most unique ones.

My first thought was Camden, NJ, but I don't think the fact that it has a high crime rate should really have an impact on your name choice. I absolutely love place names, and I really like Camden and Austin together.

As for your girl names, they're all great. Though, if it were me and I planned on using Austin and Camden for boys, I'd have to continue with the "place" theme, so I'd be more inclined to use Caroline out of those choices as it reminds me of Carolina.
