[identity profile] harinakshi.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

So I gave my husband my list of names and let him cross off what he didn't like, then looked through what was left and took in some good advice from you guys and crossed a few more off. What is left is
Alice
Holly
Audrey

I was really sad to see Matilda go, he said because of the movie. And even more sad to see Charlotte go, I know it doesn't fit in with my theme, but it wasn't an on purpose theme so I don't feel bound to it. But his only thing against Charlotte was that a good friend of his wife's named that and he'd be accused of naming the baby after her.

With those names in mind as our agreed likes, any other suggestions? There is a chance he'll be deployed well before I have this baby and possibly before we can find out the gender so it's important to me to find a name early.

I'd order them -
1- Alice
2- Audrey
3- Holly

Does he have any decent suggestions other than Emily? How do they go w/the middles you have picked out? Would you consider something like Audriana? It's a guilty pleasure of mine lol. A friend from HS married a girl w/that name and she goes by Audrey :)

PS- I'm bummed to see Norah off your list :(

I, too, would order them Alice, Audrey, Holly, as another commenter said.

Um...trying to think of softer names, but most of the names I like have more of the harder consonants.

Helena? Oooh, or how about Leona?

I like Holly a lot. What about something like Leona, which I think is incredibly soft and gorgeous?

I'm not too fond of Holly, but I like the others!

What about Eleanor or Evelyn? Or Adelaide?

I don't like Holly, but Audrey and Alice are classic. I read your posts and Esme and Amelia have more spunk than those names though!
Other suggestions of names that are similar to me:
Tallulah
Violet
Etta
Caroline
Stella
Sophia
Eleanor
Clara

good luck xx

I love Matilda! Bummer he hates it.

Out of those three, my favorite by a long shot is Alice, but to me Audrey and Holly are more similar in style to each other, which makes Alice feels a bit out of left field. So, I'd likely go with Audrey, it is suits both your tastes better.

And if you are looking for a softer style, I once knew an Audra, which feels softer than Audrey, and I think is just lovely. :)

How about flower names? They tend to make any name they are paired with feel pretty and girly. (Although, maybe not with Holly because that would make two botanical names!) Something like Aubrey Poppy or Aubrey Violet or Aubrey Lily?

Oooh, and if this is important to you, Aubrey is much more common than Audrey, so if it were me I'd worry about my child having to spell an/or correct her name all the time. But maybe Aubree/Aubrie/Aubrey is just super common where I live?
