What do you guys think of the name Caspian?

It's getting really trendy here in Norway. Personally struggling with fitting it on a real person, even though the son of one of my coworkers is actually named Caspian. I just feel it's so Narnia.

For what it's worth, I also think of Narnia whenever I hear that name.

I think it's kind of cool. Plus I like the nickname Cas on a boy

I know the association with the Chronicles of Narnia, but I have always kind of liked it. Actually, I used to really, really like it back when I first heard it. It's not on my list anymore, but I'm still fond of it.

Narnia was my first thought, too. Narnia is too classic to ever go away. It is like naming a kid Frodo.

I don't know if it is like naming a kid Frodo. A) there is the Caspian Sea and B) Frodo is not an attractive name in the least. At least Caspian has some appeal.

You know how kids always reverse their b's and d's so door would be boor? Yeah, that's why you should never name a child Bilbo. I wonder if child-hobbits do that too, and if Bilbo had issues with spelling his name when he was a young hobbit...

My first thought was Caspian Sea. Then Narnia.

Caspian doesn't make me think of Narnia. I actually love the name, possibly because its similar to Casper but without the friendly ghost association for me.

I would totally love the name Casper if it weren't for the friendly ghost association.

I get why people like it, I really do. It's uncommon, it sounds cool, good nickname possibilities. But it just sounds so trying too hard. Like, beyond trendy. But maybe that's just me?* But yes, my first thought is Caspian sea, followed by Narnia. Neither is a bad association, though.

*Actually, pretty sure this is because the Caspian I know was named by a really young/teenage mom going for the cool factor. His name is Caspian Orion Atreyu. :\

It makes me think of the Caspian sea, really. It's a reference to the people who used to live around the Caspian sea. I think it'd be really cute on a little boy. On an adult man…I don't know? Depends on the guy and how he carries it.
