I started a new job yesterday and one of my co-workers has two kids, a boy named Dakota (nn Koty) and a girl named Iliana. I'm not sure how I feel about Dakota. It's cute but when he gets older I don't know... And his mother says people always misspell his name CODY (I wonder why.... lol).
BUT... I do like Iliana. In fact lately I think I have pretty much fallen in love with the name Eliana, which is quite close. But I like the E spelling and pronunciation better.
What do you all think?

Iliana sounds very Russian to me, and obviously like you I would prefer the Hebrew spelling with an E. :)

Dakota I do not like. It sounds like a name for a Siberian Husky. On people, it sounds very trendy to me whether it's a boy or girl. And NO ONE is going think to spell it "Koty"! If I hear that name, I'm going to think "Cody" too.

I think Dakota is an awful name, boy or girl. It's on my (short) list of names I hate.
