I've been partial to Margaret for quite awhile now. One of my top boy choices is Callum Robert, and I like Margaret Maeve as a potential sibling. However, lately Louise has really grown on me, and I'm quite in love with Margaret Louise. I'm pretty weird about what I pair with what, so if I ever had a Margaret Louise, I probably wouldn't have a Callum Robert. Although...maybe?

So as I type this, I'm adding a couple questions: What do you think of Margaret Louise and Callum Robert as potential siblings? What other names would sound good in the set? Boy or girl.

To my original questions: What do you think of Margaret Louise and what boys' and girls' names would you see in a sibset?

I think as a pair they sound fine together. Margaret Louise is a bit on the dated side to me, and while both names are nice I prefer one of the name to be a bit more modern/contemporary.

I think Margaret Louise is lovely. I particularly like Margaret. I think it flows better than Margaret Maeve. I also think Callum Robert sounds fine with Margaret Louise. Why do you think they don't fit?

You know, I'm having trouble articulating why. I guess it's because Callum Robert is Scottish not-Scottish, so Margaret Maeve being not-Irish Irish keeps the names balanced? And Margaret Louise has an entirely different vibe to me.

do you plan to use a nickname for Margaret? the name may be old but the nicknames cycle through and there are some younger, fresher ones than the usual Marge or Peggy. Maggie, Daisy, Maisie, etc. might sound good with Callum. though personally I'm not a fan of Callum ;)

If ever I had a Margaret, I would call her by the full name some of the time (because I do love it), but I would also use the nn Meg and maybe occasionally Maggie.

I really love Margaret Maeve because then you can call her "Maggie Mae" for short :)

I love Margaret Louise. I like it much better than Margaret Maeve. I also love Callum Robert. I think Margaret Louise and Callum Robert go together very well.

You won't be calling them by their full name's anyway so I don't think it matters of you think the middle names match or not.

I much prefer Margaret Maeve, I think Louise just sounds like a filler nickname, everyone seems to have the middle name Louise. Maybe go for Louisa instead?

It's important to me that all of the names (first and middle of all children) work well with each other and 'fit' if that makes sense. I know it doesn't matter to everyone, but it does to me.

As far as Louise being filler, I think that depends on your generation and where you live. I'm 1980s USA, so everyone had Lynn or Marie as a middle. I've only ever met one person with the middle name Louise and she only has it because it is more English than a family name of hers, Luisa. She's a first generation American. So basically, from my perspective, it doesn't seem filler at all.
