My cousin and his wife recently had a new baby, Winston Carter. Winston joins sister Takija Bree and brothers Henry Nathan and Archie Joseph.

LOL! Teekie (as she gets called) has a different mum. So that explains it in this instance at least... but I have noticed the same thing. One of my other cousins has a creatively spelled name for her daughter (Shantelle) and a normally named son (Zachary). *shrug*

I was thinking the same thing - all classic names for the boys and then there's Takija. :) Though, admittedly my name list for girls is a much less common/traditional/classic one than the list for boys, but not quite that different.

Sorry, I should have said it's pronounced Ta-kee-ya. I would edit to add that but I can't figure out how with my LJ app. She's a lovely little girl and actually does pretty well at school too. I think once people work out how to pronounce it they're right. Her mother hasn't had any more kids (perhaps thankfully)! :)
