I'm pregnant with #2 and we won't know if it's a boy or girl until it's born. Family tradition is to use the first initial of relatives who have passed on recently.  My husband and I have each lost our grandmothers so we have M and R to use.  We've decided if it's a girl we'll use R for first name and M for a middle name.  If it's a boy, we'll use M for the first and R for the middle name.  So far, we like Max for a boy (but, is it a full name?  We could also use Maxwell if that sounds better - we're not comletely sold on it yet) but have no idea what to use for a middle "R" name.

Any suggestions for a girl with initials R M or a boy M R would be appreciated.  We have a daughter already so bonus points if it "works" with Ziva Claire.  It's kind of hard to find names that sound nice but don't rhyme with Ziva.

Why limit yourself to RM for girls and MR for boys. Why not have backup RM for boys and MR for girls just in case?

Hah, it’s funny you should have those initials for a girl, because back before I got pregnant with my first daughter, hubby and I had talked about naming a future daughter Rosalie Margaret, after his grandmother and mine respectively. Not sure if that’s really your style, but I like it. Maxwell isn’t really my style, but I don’t mind it. Hmm, for a middle name, Robert is the first one that pops into my head. Probably because it’s my husband’s name, and my grandfather’s name. I think Maxwell Robert sounds really dignified. Also, Mason Robert goes well, and it’s a name we tossed around for a boy. Congratulations, and good luck!

Max can totally be name that can stand on it's own. My Mom's boss's name is Max. He's in his 60's and his name is not a nickname nor short for any other name. I love the name but find it difficult to find a middle name that I like for it that flow well. However, I love how Christina Aguilera's son, Max Liron's name flows. So, I'd use something like Max Ronan, Max Rowan, or Max Ryan for the M.R. initials.

...drat. I think there was another one, but I keep forgetting the names I've seen other people suggest, and I'm on my phone, so I can't go back and look without losing my comment.

An "R" name that I thought might work for either gender is Robin. Also, my brother is Ronan, and I'm Miranda, so those are two other names I can think of, although I don't know how we'll either of them would go with Ziva Claire.
