a rose is a rose is a...
Mar. 6th, 2013 04:11 amLong story long.
So, I've always loved the name Rose, and we used it our with our first daughter-- her second first name. We're toyed with the idea of using another form of Rose or of using another flower name. Well, 'Rose' in itself as an unintentional nod to my husband's great-great-grandmother. However, while going through some census records recently, I've found Rose was her middle/second name as well and that her first name as was actually Orlena. WDYT? I have to say I kinda love it, think it would go well with the other less-common, but not completely weird names that like.

Date: 2013-03-06 08:16 pm (UTC)If you do go with Orlena, they could always use Lena. Just be sure to give them something as neutral as Rose as a middle name to balance it out. That way, if they hate Orlena, there's always that middle name.
(Coming from a Karla. Constantly correcting. Never had my name on a keychain I didn't make myself and laminate with packing tape to be like the Nicoles and Marias.)
