I got a list of names for Valentine's Day from my son's preschool, so now that we're done filling out the cards, I figured I'd share.

I was most surprised by Adonis, though I suppose that's only because my son and I have had the "Molly?" "No, her name is MARLEE!" conversation a few times when he was telling me about his day and I couldn't understand what he was saying. Also, that spelling of Zoei is really tripping me up.

Yeah, the spelling of Zoei is just weird. It sort of looks incomplete to me. And Khloe looks very wrong. I’m newly in love with Finnley though. I think it’s an awesome name, and would totally use it for a future son. I think out of all the names, stupid spellings aside, I like Adonis the least. Most of the rest I could take or leave.

Zoei looks like a type to me - like the parents meant to call her Zoie and misclicked. Still don't like it...

Khloe looks odd to me, although I guess it's more accurate since Kh is the 'proper' transcription of the X in Χλοη... But the name is so well established as Chloe it's 'wrong' to me too.

(Sorry, that was my Mum's favourite story to read us as kids and every time I see it as a name I giggle insanely because I remember her face reading the Door-nail / coffin nail bit :P)

If Adonis isn't great looking, he's going to have a tough time. Those kinds of names are too much for a kid. If you name your kid Romeo, it's one thing if he turns out suave and romantic, but what if he's shy and awkward?

It always amuses me when a name that there's two of, is a name you just KNOW that the parents were saying "she'll be the only one in her class!" about. Sorry, Paisley G and Paisley R! Better luck next year.

I have a high school acquaintance with a 2.5 year old named Adonis. When he was first born, she would always brag about how everyone loved the unique name, but, "... It's a real name! We found it in a baby book!" Hahaha.

Also, WTF Zoei.

And, paisley is not a name. It's a pattern. An outdated pattern, even.

I'm not really into these trendy names. I fear my kids may be the only ones with traditional names in school. I like Alexander, Allison and Micah.

I love that you have a son named Micah, its one of the names on my list that my husband sadly vetoes each time (he says he has too many Michaels in his family. Some by birth, some by marriage)

Most of these are pretty normal, except for Zoei, Zaine, and Adonis. Only one -aiden name, which is nice. Adonis is a lot to live up to.

I would like Khloe if it was Chloe instead... And Zoei if it was Zoe or maybe Zoey (though it isn't necessarily my naming style). I wish Liam wasn't so popular these days - love the sound of it. Paisley is really cute, but I'd probably never use it.
