My friend found out she's having a girl!

The name they've chosen (thus far lol): Adelaide Pearl.  Thoughts?

I like it quite a bit.  Pearl is a family name.

Wow, that's really pretty! I love Pearl as a middle name, and Adelaide is growing on me after I met a super-cute Adelaide last summer.

I think it's perfect. Adelaide is a name that I quite like. I've always thought it was fun to say. And Pearl is on my list for middles.

love Adelaide, although it's gonna be a job to get it past my husband so seeing it on another kid makes me happy :D Pearl is NMS but a perfectly good name. And all spelt correctly. I like this friend :D

I dislike Adelaide so much. I know place names are unavoidable, but it's as bad as naming your kid Sydney, Paris, Brooklyn, Bronx, and London. Makes me wonder if people, who name their kids after famous cities, would still name them those if they actually lived there? I do love Pearl though, it'd be a family name for me as well but it's so simple and neat.

Adelaide was a person name before it was a place name. :/

Well, that is why I said I know it's unavoidable... meaning that I know places and names were one of the other before.

I really LOVE Adelaide, but I don't really love any nicknames... I cant stand the nickname Addie. Ada is a cute option, I guess. I wouldn't want any of the L nicknames for our family (our last name starts with L and we already have one alliterative name)...

I like the combo!

The name derives from Adelheid, so Heidi could be a possible nickname. Or Adele of course.

I don't love Addie either. Too much like Addison. What L nicknames are there?

I dunno if there really are L nicknames, I guess... Lainey/Lane? I just know if there are, we wouldn't want to use another L nickname.

Adelaide has been on my list for ages and I've always liked the idea of the nn Delle.

Adelaide is on my shortlist, and I love using family names, so I wholeheartedly approve.

Beautiful. Pearl is a great name and the fact that it is a family name makes it even better.
