Feb. 5th, 2013 01:07 pmBeen rethinking my future baby names lately. When I was 14, I was so sure I'd have a daughter named Amanda Juliana and a son named David Alexander. Now I'm nearly 26, have changed Amanda Juliana to Amanda Madeleine/Madelen (norwegian spelling) and I've pretty much scrapped David Alexander.
I don't really have problems finding girl names that I like. Amanda is still my number one name and I honestly doubt that will ever change. I also like Aurora, Emily, Sophia (all of them are getting so popular here in Norway), as well as Andrea, Annabelle and Angelica. I like a bunch more for middles, but they change all the time so they're not really that important.
What always throws me are boys though. I know it's a pretty common "problem" around here. The reason I liked David in the first place is that I was going to be named that if I had been a boy (or so my mother says). Alexander is still in the running as a middle because it works well with pretty much everything. Daniel was always my second choice, but it's starting to bore me.
My new top contender for a boy is Gabriel but I'm not sure what to pair it up with. I could always pair it up with Alexander, but I also want the name to be sort of unique without going ~cre8yve~. How would Gabriel Valentin sound along with Amanda Madeleine/Madelen? Valentin would be pronounced valenteen and would not rhyme with Madeleine as we say Madeleine differently in Norwegian.
Also, please suggest more names if you want.
