It's three in the morning and I can't sleep, so I've been looking up names on Behind the Name,

First of all, I'm sad to hear I've been mispronouncing Eamon. I liked it better as EE-mon. AY-mon sounds sharp to me. Does EE-mon as a name exist?

What do you think of the name Atticus Rory Spencer (nickname Gus)? Last name is two syllables beginning with Gr.
Would be the imaginary brother to the imaginary Beatrix Adelaide Margaret (nick name Bea - BEE-ah) and Cordelia Wren Islley (nick name Cora/Cori, still debating between spellings for Islley/Eilley/Isley/Eiley).

I always pronounced it Ay-mon, then was told it was pronounced ee-mon, and I'd been saying it wrong all along. Strange. And good to know. I like both pronunciations, personally.

Uh, I prefer Ay-mon. I think it sounds softer. When I was at college, there was a professor whose first name was Eamonn (legitimate spelling variation), and I thought it was "Ee-MON", and then I found out the real pronunciation, which made me like the name a lot more.

I like Atticus Rory Spencer. It's got a great rhythm to it.

I think ee-mon sounds too much like demon. Aymon is better, but makes me think of something someone would say to you if you were on vacation in Jamaica.

I like all the names you picked, but am not a fan of the triple name plus last name thing. Still, they're all good names. I especially like Cordelia Wren. I'd call her Lia for short, maybe. :)

Ay as in "Eh?" is the way I've always said it, but I think I first came across it when Eamonn Holmes (http://www.officialeamonnholmes.com/) was a presenter, so it was a heard first name for me... I'd be a pick for me, if it wasn't also the name of an abusive ex of my big sister. Nice name, big arsehole memory for her, so no for me... Would love seeing it on another kid though.

Eamon(n) is my favourite boys name. I've never heard it pronounced EE-mon (except when people are pronouncing it wrong).

The weird thing is, I've only heard it pronounced "EE-uh-men," as if it were three syllables. I'm guessing that pronunciation was incorrect, also.
