Sofia/Sophia has shot through the roof the last two years and it bugs me because I love that name. Aurora is one of my favorites too. Top 10 has been pretty stable for years now though, especially for boys.

They also have a page where you can see all the names given to babies as long as 3 or more got it one year sometime between 2003-2012, and my nephew's name isn't on it hahahaha.

Interesting. Since Mohammed is #36 for boys ... what do Muslim parents name their daughters? Just traditional Norwegian names and not Arabic/Islamic ones?

There are a lot of arabic/islamic names that they name their daughters, although some do use variations of more common names like Sahra, Selma or Yasmin, but as far as I know there's not one particular girl name that they use more than others and therefore they don't end up in the top 40. Mohammed is the most common name for boys amongst at least the Norwegian muslim population which is why it ends up in the top 40.

it's been in the Norwegian top 40 for years now. I wish there would be a change soon, almost all the names in the top 40 have been there for like 10 years.
