I heard the name Ellery for a girl. It's interesting. What do you think?

I knew an Ellery in high school, and I couldn't help thinking of celery every time I heard her name.

I've heard that before, but only in this community. It's not my usual style, but there's something about it I like!

I found it in my family tree (for a man, actually, and it was spelled "Ellory") and I quite liked it for a girl, but everyone made the "celery" comparison and now I can't unhear it.

Same.

Ooh, that's pretty....nevermind.

I could never use Ellery for a human child because I've only ever heard it in reference to my mother's family's beloved cockapoo (cocker spaniel/poodle mix). It's a pet name to me.

It's an awesome name, no doubt. But is it a girls name? One of my residents was named Ellery and I thought it fit him well.

I know someone who spells it Elary...she's had issues with "celery" too.

One of our new babies at work (she's 4 months, I think) is named Ellery. We call her Ellery Celery, because it's so hard to break that association.

i like it. i've only ever known one Ellery and it was a boy but i always thought it sounded a little feminine.

I really like it, maybe bordering on love, but spelled "Ellory" instead.

One of my mom's friend's granddaughters is named Ellery... she's about 10 now I think. I like it and *might* use it, but I dunno.

One of those names that, for me, just sounds too masculine. I prefer something like Elora.
