Nothing Set In Stone (Just Tossing Some Ideas Around)

So I thought we'd name our 1st daughter Katelyn Elisabeth. But my husband threw a curve ball at me (he does this a lot, that's why if we have a 2nd daughter her name will be Frances Isabel) and said he really liked the name Amelia especially with Amy as the nickname. So I was thinking about it and I really like Amelia too. I've always liked Amy a lot but I never seriously thought about it as a potential name for any child(ren) I might have one day. Anyway. If we did use Amelia I'd still like to at least have Kate in there somewhere since I adore the name. Here are some ideas I've been throwing around:

Amelia Elisabeth Kate
Katelyn Elisabeth Amy
Katelyn Amelia
Amy Elisabeth Kate
Katelyn Amelia Elisabeth
Amelia Elisabeth

My husband isn't sure if he likes the combos I suggested. I'm not sure how keen he was on keeping Elisabeth in the name since it was for his grandmother. And the only reason I don't spell the name EliZabeth is because I personally think EliSabeth looks prettier.

Also, what do ya'll think of the name Declan Chance/Chanse (I kind of like the "nse" spelling but I'm not dismissing either one)

I'll be blunt: Chanse to me says "my parents didnt know how to spell chance."

I don't really like Katelyn in any spelling. Amelia is nice with Elisabeth. Consider Amelia Frances and Amelia Isabel? After all you have no guarentee that you'll ever have another daughter.

I think Amelia Kate is really cute. I don't really care for any of the other combinations, although I do like Elisabeth/Elizabeth. I think Amelia Frances sounds nice as well. I don't like the --cis Is-- in FranCIS ISabel. The s sounds are too close together. What about Elisabeth Amelia? I find going from a vowel to a vowel, such as you do in Amelia Elisabeth, is a little tricky sometimes.

If your husband doesn't mind variants of Elisabeth, you could use Eliza Kate (or Elisabeth Katherine with that as the nn, or just Elisabeth Kate). Elspeth Kate or Katherine Elise (nn Kate) are both nice too. Actually, Isabel is an old variant of Elizabeth, so you could use Isabel for the grandmother: Isabel Amelia, Amelia Isabel, Isabel Amelia Kate, Amelia Isabel Kate, Kate Isabel Amelia, or Kate Amelia Isabel all work.

I like Declan. While Declan Chance sounds okay, I really don't like Chance as a name. I associate chance with risk, fate, and accident, none of which I would wish to associate with my child. Chanse makes me want to pronounce it like the French "chance," which is entirely different.

Amelia Kate or Amelia Elisabeth are probably the best options. Amelia Katherine would be lovely as well (that's the name Katelyn derives from). I'm sorry, but Katelyn in any spelling always seems like a cheap name to me. Also, Isabel Frances might be preferable to Frances Isabel so that the "s" sounds don't run together.

Declan Chance looks much better than Declan Chanse.

I LOVE Amelia Kate! I personally really dislike Katelyn but am a big fan of Kate, so that's got my vote. Even Kate Amelia is cute to me.

And Declan Chance is cute! Not too sure if I like Chanse, it looks more like a last name.
