[identity profile] jadedinnocent.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

So, I worked as a poll clerk at Thursday's PCC elections in the UK, and since it was very boring I thought i'd make a note of interesting names from the electoral register to share. I was clerking in an area with a lot of university students on the roll.

(note: unless these people actually came in, I don't know middle names, ethnicities, or whether they were male or female.)

Ellahay
Gurzel
Bebetah
Gully
Efrain
Stevinder
Chalette
Sasha (m, i've seen this as a male name before but not with this spelling)
Fintan
Annise

And a family:

Wilbert
Joan
Latisha
Sheraine

(i'm assuming Wilbert and Joan are the parents and Latisha and Sheraine the kids, i thought it was interesting how different the names were)

Gurzel is amazing! I can't imagine the ethnicity, maybe Middle Eastern?

Sasha as a male nickname is usually Aleksandr. In my experience in Russia, Sasha was more male than female (Aleksandra seemed to be shortened more to Shura), but that might just be inaccurate anecdata :)
