I found out this morning that my friend, whose name is Bill (not William, just Bill), has a sister named Brichelle.  I've never heard that before.  Anyone?

 

Also, reviewing a list of popular names on my side of U.S., I was shocked to see Buckette, as in a "feminine version" - which I'm not entirely sure this is?? - of Buck.  Or a very strange way to spell 'bucket'.

Okay, maybe it's just because I hated "Buck" on a boy to begin with, but "Buckette" is the most hideous name I have ever heard.

Just Bill? I've never heard of anything like that either. I always know of the parents giving them the full name but just sticking to the common nickname....odd...
When I read "Buckette" I just thought of "bucket". I don't know why anyone thought that'd be a really good name. :/

Bill has never struck me as strange because my dad is Tom and I have two uncles named Jeff and Rex... none of them are nicknames - they're "just" Tom and Jeff.

Yeah, I definitely know a few Toms who are just Tom, not Thomas. And I know a Sam, not Samuel. His mother thought Samuel sounded too much like "mule."

I'm Rochelle, I have friends named Richelle and Brielle, and of course there's the girl from Real World named Trishelle, but I've never heard of Brichelle... I can't find an origin or a meaning anywhere..?

I also know a few people with "nickname" names, like Niki, Ray, Abby, Tricia, etc.
