[identity profile] cozyjeans.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I’m a little over 10 weeks pregnant with baby number two, and we’ve been talking names for weeks now. We had three girl names selected that we were both happy with, but still haven’t come up with a satisfactory boy name. The other day I saw someone post a birth announcement in the pregnant community here, and the name stuck with me. I ran it by my husband, and he loves it to. So, we’re set on Natalie Cassandra for a girl. I hope the mommy of that new baby isn’t on here thinking I swiped her name, LOL. If she is, I hope she takes it as a compliment that I love the name she picked enough to use it for my potential baby girl. For the record, our first daughter’s name is Haylie Elizabeth. Unfortunately, I have a nagging feeling that the girl name we’ve chosen will be moot, because I strongly suspect this peanut is a boy. In which case, we’re still at square one. LOL. We’ve sorta kinda settled on Benjamin Michael for a boy, but neither of us are jumping up and down about it like we are Natalie Cassandra. So, with any luck, my hunch is wrong and we won’t have to deal with picking a boy’s name. Not for a couple of years, anyway.

My husband and I struggle with boy names too, girls are easy, if we ever have a girl she will be Amelia Grace... boy names take us forever. Which of course means we have a 2 year old son and another little boy due in December :P

I love Natalie. It's one of my favorites for a girl. It goes really well with Haylie.

Benjamin is my favorite boys name! I don't have any kids, but my list of girls names is probably twice as long as my boys list. Boys names are hard!

honestly, i wouldn't stress too much about not having a boy name picked out. you're only 10 weeks along, you have at least 25-30 weeks to figure it out. my first (girl: mischa jade) wasn't named until 3 hours before she was born and the second (girl: maya pearl joanne) wasn't named until about 2 weeks before she was born. however, we didn't tell anyone their names until they were actually born just in case we changed our minds. i have no idea how women can name their unborn child so early and still love the name by the time the baby is born. i was so indecisive when i was pregnant.

{I think we were both in July2011 babies, yes? If so, congrats on #2!!}

We were just the opposite with my son. My husband and I had his name picked out since the early days of our dating. Our son was always going to be Lucas Gabriel. We added Salvatore to the end at the hospital, but he was always always going to be Lucas Gabriel. We flip flopped on so many girl names and never settled on one. As much as I hope baby #2 is a girl, I'm also hoping for a boy since we like boy names better and have a similar naming style for them.

My friend was SURE she was having boys since she had a specific type of twin set that usually results in girls, she had names picked out and everything... then it turned out to be boys! I'm eagerly awaiting their arrival to hear the names since she was a name nerd like me and we have similar tastes. The girl names were beautiful that she picked, too.

Hypothetically speaking. I'm not pregnant. We aren't doing anything to avoid pregnancy, bit we also aren't ttc.

My mom was ALWAYS set on having two boys. It just never occurred to her that she might have a girl. Ever. She got pregnant and they didn't even think about girl names because she was just SO SURE she was going to have a boy. She just always pictured herself with two boys.

Well, I'm a girl, and I'm an only child :P So wrong on all counts!

I believe I saw that post and thought it was a nice name! The pairing with your daughter's name really works. I'm unfortunately not pregnant, but the husband and I have a girl name totally picked out (we have been TTC for nearly two years so hopefully that doesn't come off as totally strange), but boys names are trickier. We have one picked out but the middle name is up in the air! I think Benjamin is nice with Haylie.
