A customer at work came in with her two children. Took me a while to figure out what she was calling her daughter. At first I thought she said Rockerby (she was at a distance when I heard her the first time), but nope, it's Brookery. Afterwards, as they were leaving, she said, "Harry. Brooke. Come on!" because they were loitering at the tills.

WDYT?

Harry is a normal name, but not my style, but Brookery just makes me go "WTF".

Lol, I call my dog Boopy and a lady once asked why I gave him such a horrid name. His name is actually Jasper, but my baby cousins couldn't say it when I first got him and "puppy" came out "Boopy" and it just stuck. I didn't even know how to respond to the woman, so I just walked away.

There are a lot of terribly named children who come into my clinic, but I would never have the audacity to call out the parents. Let alone some of the stupid names my friends give their dogs & I keep my mouth shut there too.

I love Harry. And I am going to convince myself that the girl's name is actually Brooke and that Brookery is just a silly nickname. Yep, that's what it is. No doubt about it.
