My husband and I were talking today and we were talking about people who name their kids after a family memeber or use a parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt's name for a first or middle name and then regret it later on? Did that make sense? What was the name and why.

For us it was the name Michael.....which has now been changed to Nathaniel. My husband has adopted my son (our son now) and his biological father's name was Michael. Also my husband's dad's name is Michael and they are both total douches. Any body else?

I wouldn't give the kid that name in the first place unless it meant something to me. My first daughter's middle name will be Margaret, after my mother (also my real first name, but I don't use it, and wouldn't name a kid after me, because I don't care). Because I loved my mom, and it's important to me. At one point, there was a reason you used that name, and it was significant...
