So I got a reading from a baby psychic for fun (I know, I know, but it was like ten bucks. Couldn't help myself.) since my husband and I are trying for our second baby. She said I would have a girl next and a boy again after that.

My son's name is Malcolm Fionnlagh, and I know if we have another boy his first name will be Alasdair/Alistair (can't decide on a spelling just yet). I did have a list of girl names for quite some time, but none of them quite go with my boy names.

Suggestions? Obviously I'm into that whole Scottish/Gaelic name scheme. I don't mind traditional Gaelic spellings, though maybe not for a first name since that could be a big pain.

I don't think that Elspeth is pretentious, but I do think that if you're not in Scotland/the UK many people will think you are trying to say Elizabeth with a speech impediment. Ishbel has the same issue.

How about Fiona/Fenella/Finola/Fionnuala? Too close to your kid's MN?

Given the popularity of some island names like Isla, Iona, and Skye, maybe some of the other islands like Cara, Rona or Danna would be an avant-garde choice?
