Birth Announcement

My husband's sister-in-law (his brother's wife) just had her second child yesterday morning. Baby boy Peyton Xavier joins older sister Kadyn Serena. Xavier was actually a name my husband and I had considered, but we had a Henry instead. Not sure how I feel about Peyton, TBH. Sounds a bit rhyme-y to me. Still haven't seen the little munchkin yet, hopefully this weekend, so maybe I'll see him and think, "Well, of course he's a Peyton!"

What do you think?

I always think Peyton Manning... are they Colts or Broncos fans? That name would immediately be rejected in my household, as my husband is a diehard Patriots fan.

I only know girl Peyton's, so I think of it as a girls name right off the bat.

A friend of ours is having a Peyton today! They don't know if it's a boy or girl, but baby will be here soon!

I wish their middle names had been their firsts! ;) I don't like Peyton or Kadyn. But Serena and Xavier would've made a nice sibset. Sad :(

I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!

terrible individually, barf-inducing as a sibset. I meant the firsts, obviously.

I love the name Peyton, but for a girl. It's nice for a boy as well, but with a different spelling: Payton.

The first Peyton I ever met was a girl, so I always think it's a feminine name now, despite it being pretty standard for men too. It's not my style, but there are worse names out there.

Looks to me like they picked the wrong name for each baby. Peyton to me is a girl's name. And Kaydn is a boy's name.
