I think they're just really trendy, and I'm not fond of really trendy. I don't care for "unique" spellings, much, either.

I definitely think that Haven is trendy, but most of the Gage's I know/know of are around 20 years old, give or take a couple years. Probably as a result of Pet Semetary.

It was always one of my absolute least favourite names, I thought it was so, so ugly, until of course, I knew someone with the name and I was like, "oh, maybe it isn't so bad!" It's a constant internal debate, lol.

Yeah, I've lived most of my life in the NYC metro area, and those names scream SOUTHERN to me (as a contrast to the kind of names people give their kids in the Northeast; I also worked 2 years in a Massachusetts high school, as another contrast).
