I work in a boarding school, and we have quite a few international students, mostly from China, Korea and Japan.  Some of these girls have chosen English names, and I thought I'd share them.

Personally, I think it's interesting that of all the names they can pick from, many of them have chosen very traditional, borderline old-fashioned names.

When I was at uni, a lot of the Asian students picked names like Geraldine and Sabrina.

I <3 Sylvia. I have a daughter named Lillian and if we ever picked Sylvia, my grandma would totay think we were naming our kids after her friends, lol. But I think it's just so cute!

Winnie seemed to be a really popular choice with the Chinese students when I was at university. I met at least five Winnies during my uni years.
