Boy Names

I’m like, 3 seconds pregnant with baby #2. We had a surprisingly easy time coming up with 3 girl names that we both really like and can agree on, but boy names have us totally stumped. Our 13 month old daughter’s name is Haylie Elizabeth. The girl names that we have picked out are Samantha Catherine, Amelia Catherine, and Abigayle Margaret. The boy names that I like are Nicholas, Gabriel, Ethan and Andrew, in order of preference. Hubby’s are Connor, Nathan and Benjamin, also in order of preference. Hopefully that gives you all an idea of the types of names we like, and you can help us find the perfect name for our potential boy? Of course, it’s still very early, and with our luck we’ll agonize over a boy name and we’ll have another girl. LOL. Not that I would complain about that! Middle name considerations at this point are Michael and Matthew, if that helps. Thanks for any and all suggestions!

I really like Samantha Catherine & Amelia Catherine. I'm not a big fan of Abigayle--both the spelling and the name. I LOVE Margaret though.

As for boys, I like all of your choices, really. I don't LOVE any of them, but they just aren't really my style.

I like the name Abigail...but hate the spelling you chose. Is there a reason you wont use the traditional spelling?

Yep, the mother in law’s name is Gayle, so we thought it would be kind of neat to go with Abigayle for her, and Margaret for my grandmother. We’d call her Abby. I think that name is at the bottom of the list though, so the likelihood that we’ll actually use it is fairly low.

I love Amelia Catherine and really like Samantha Catherine. I love Margaret, but I'm not big on Abigail in general. All of the boys names are fantastic. Nicholas is one of my favorite boy picks.

The best boy combos might be Nicholas Matthew, Gabriel Matthew, Ethan Michael, and Andrew Michael. Would you also considering combining your picks to do something like Nicholas Connor, Nathan Andrew, Benjamin Gabriel, or Ethan Benjamin, or are Michael and Matthew honoring someone?

I like Amelia and Abigayle a lot, but I strongly dislike Samantha, especially paired with Catherine. But I think that out of those three, Abigayle goes best with Haylie (although the y's in both names looks a little bit like you were trying to make sure they both had a y in there).

For the boys, I like:
Gabriel
Ethan
Connor
Nathan
Benjamin

And for all those names, I think Michael sounds the best as middle name, except with Gabriel...that would just be too much since they're both names of archangels ;).

As far as which boy names sound the best with Haylie, I'd say Connor, Nathan, and Benjamin.
