Tori spelling's new baby
Aug. 31st, 2012 12:03 amThey have another boy named him Finn Davey. WDYT? I like Finn but not Davey and I don't like the flow. The other kids are Liam Aaron, Stella Doreen and Hattie Margaret. I love the names Liam and Aaron, but they suck at naming girls, Stella is not that bad but Hattie?!

Date: 2012-08-31 06:22 pm (UTC)I agree that she is one of the better celebrity baby-namers. I like all her children's names. Hattie is too much of a nickname for me, but at least it isn't Blue Ivy or even Apple.

Date: 2012-09-01 01:40 pm (UTC)I like Liam well enough, although I tend to prefer it as a nn. I've never liked Aaron.
Stella is okay. I went through a phase where I liked it. Doreen sounds very old (not the good kind of old-fashioned) and/or Southern.
I think Hattie is adorable. I absolutely love it. But I do think it sounds more nicknamey, probably because it is a nickname. I don't care for Harriet or Henrietta though so I'll never get to use Hattie. I tend to be a use-the-full-name-for-the-legal-name kind of person. Anyway, just because I won't be using it as a given name, doesn't mean other people can't get away with it. I can see Hattie on a little girl, a teenager, a young adult, and an older person. The only age I'm less sure of for some reason is middle age. *shrug* I think Hattie Margaret is a stellar combination. Margaret is one of my current favorites and I think the two sound great together.
