When I was getting my tattoo on Thursday I started talking to the guy who was doing it just to pass time. He mentioned he was about to become a father to a little girl.

Lennox Leigh.

Lennox reminds me of a printer or something but what do you think?

I think Lennox is an okay name...for a boy. I don't like it in combination with Leigh either. For one thing, it doesn't sound good together; for another, Leigh still sounds like Lee, which can be masculine, so the name in combination still sounds very masculine. Something like Lennox Kate, Lennox Jane, or Lennox Elizabeth would have been better.

I only like surnames as first names if there is an actual connection to the surname. It's mom's (or grandma's) maiden name? Sure. It's the surname of a personal hero? Knock yourself out. You like the way Hudson/Mackenzie/Lennox sounds? No.

One issue that bugs me about these surname names is that they're always Anglo Saxon surnames. I don't see anyone naming their baby Lopez, Lewinsky, or Dvorak.

All that aside, there's a female Lennox in an Agatha Christie novel (although in her case, she's an aristocrat and it's meant to be a family connection surname, a la Fitzwilliam Darcy) and I always liked her, so I dislike this name less than other random WASPy surnames.

You're probably thinking of the brand Lenox. They make silverware and stuff like that.

Is he a fan of the boxer Lennox Lewis? Because that's all I can think right now?

I like Lennox a lot. Lennox Leigh is nothing special, though. Maybe you're thinking of the computer company Lenovo.

When I see the name Lennox, I think of either Annie Lennox, Lennox Lewis or... the heating and AC company Lennox.

The computer thing is Linux.

Lennox is okay, but I'd prefer it for a boy. I immediately thought of Annie Lennox too :p

I had a student named Lennox many years ago and she was a doll. I love the name, but not with Leigh as a middle name.

My son is named Lennox. We obviously love it. The lactation consultant was from Scotland and said it is the name of one of the castles there.

I love Lennox on a boy or a girl. I can't imagine actually using it on a girl, and if I didn't, I wouldn't pair it with Leigh, but it's not bad, imo.

I actually really like Lennox, but not paired with Leigh. I'm not sure why, but I do not like Leigh at all!!
