Amber-Nicole

Another reason for my desire to have children, or at least ponder the thought is that my close friend Robyn was pregnant. I say was, as she gave birth to Amber-Nicole lastnight...unexpectidly..3 weeks early! Both are doing great though. I'm not a huge fan of the double barelled name to be honest, although i like both those names as single names. Amber especially.
What do you all think about a '-'? i think its a lille silly really...
Anyway i'm going to see the baby tomorrow and although im a little sad for myself i am so excited for her! xox

It's a good way to have two names if you can't decide, but names like Amber and Nicole don't work together, one is best kept for a middle name or for a second child. Names like Mary-Lou and Mary-Anne work because they sound like one word. The child will never be called "Amber-Nicole", she'll either be Amber or Nicole or Nicky or whatever she chooses to be called when she's a teen (which is when kids with embarrassing/hard to pronounce/long names generally decide on a nickname).

i think it depends "amber-nicole' doesnt work for me but it can work for names like 'Jamie-Lee'...my middle name is Rose-Anne... my mom wanted to nmae me after herself but 'Jennifer Joanne' didnt soudn great so she took the -Anne part and apparantly the Rose just fit... :S so it works for some names but not so well for others

That's not entirely true. I knew a kid growing up named John-Michael. All through high school everyone called him John-Michael. Now, I haven't seen him for about 7 years but I assume if he went by John-Michael for 18 years he'd continue to go by it.

Well of course there are exceptions.

Where do you live? I have a friend named Robyn who wanted to name her that and she recently moved. I heard from one of my friends that she was pregnant. Well let me know.
