I read a trilogy of books when I was in late elementary/early middle school. I'm not sure if the series has an official name, but the first one was called The Face on the Milk Carton. Anyway, in it, the main character or her friend (can't remember which) wanted to name her hypothetical future daughters Denim and Lace. They were in high school though so I think the author purposely came up with a weird set. The rest of the names in the series were normal.

Anyway, I think Denim is a pretty dumb name.

Yes! I LOVED those books when I was younger. Totally forgot about Denim and Lace, though. But now that you mention it, I remember that after I read it I went through a phase where I wanted to name my future daughter "Fancy." Thankfully I grew out of that phase. -__-

I want to say that some celebrity recently named their child Denim. I could be wrong and I can't for the life of me remember who it might have been, but it's standing out for some reason. But yeah, I just can't wrap my head around that one. Bleh.

*Ah ha, found it! It's wasn't recently, but Toni Braxton named her son Denim. I knew I saw it somewhere.
