[identity profile] ladydreamfire.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Soooo....I hope you don't mind this mess. Maybe there's a better forum for the rambling, but I really love my LJ baby name community better than everywhere else on the internet.

Anyhow, I had a way shorter period than normal and I've been feeling waves of nausea out of nowhere for the last week. Today I left training at work early because I threw up water. I took a pregnancy test last night and it came back negative. I'll wait a couple days and take another just to be on the safe side. I may just be sick, and that's fine. Sick or pregnant is not the point. The point is that my first thought in the bathroom was how I didn't love my boy list anymore...at all.

So besides Cesare and Ambrose I've got nothing. And Ambrose is only for the middle name position. Cesare is the only first name option on my new list. I don't have a middle name for it yet even.

And I don't want it to be remotely German. Henrik Wolfgang is all the German I can handle. And it makes my husband say the name in a ridiculous tone of voice. He wants to move somewhere warm and where they likely speak a lot of Spanish so when I pointed out how weird the name would sound in contrast he went all "Come here Pepe, Miguel, Emilio, HEN-RIK WOLF-GANG!" where he exaggerates every syllable of the name. He does this really loudly to boot.  He drove me nuts with it to the point that I don't like it anymore. I also don't like the idea of New Mexico anymore either. His desert paradise is lost now.

Bother. Girls are easier. I've got two choices for girls and surprise surprise Elsa is no longer one of them. I chopped it off the list when I realized that I had truly fallen for Hermione. So I'm keeping Gemma Hermione and added Hermione Giselle as an alternative. I will use Hermione somewhere. It doesn't matter which.

I'll also understand if you feel I'm being flaky, being as I've said I was entirely decided no less than twice, but naming is a process right?

So whatever inspiration you can throw my way would be great. Either for entirely new first names, for combos, middle name options for Cesare. As long as it's all boy suggestions. Thanks!

"Sick or pregnant is not the point. The point is that my first thought in the bathroom was how I didn't love my boy list anymore." This is hilarious. And I completely understand it.

Er, I don't have any suggestions. I like Hermione though.

haha Yup I definitely love both Hermione combos! Both are beautiful. :) Also I think Cesare Augustine sounds lovely (I am a big fan of August and both variations)

Just wondering, would you pronounce Cesare as "Ce-ZAR-ay" or "CHESS-er-ay"? Knowing that might help with combos.

Okay, I love Aurelio! Aurelius also comes to mind, buttttttttttt they would have to be in the middle name position.

Just wondering: why would it have to be in the middle name position? Is it too flowery for a first name?

"Come here Pepe, Miguel, Emilio, HEN-RIK WOLF-GANG!"

Thank you for this. The laughter was worth all my incredibly stressful Monday.

As for names, what about Lucas? Elliot? Sebastian?

I don't have any boy suggestions, I never could come up with any either. I just couldn't see myself having boys! I just wanted to pop in and say I love the name Hermione, Harry Potter or no Harry Potter. It's just a lovely name!

This is funny because I went to middle school and high school in Venezuela and studied with a Wolfgang! But see we saw it as completely normal because we studied with him for so long.

A lot of Italian names work wonderfully in Spanish =) and I see a lot of people suggested them but I wanted to add that Wolfgang would probably be better than Cesare for the Spanish speaking community. Cesare will be pronounced Seh-sah-reh and not anywhere near Chess-uh-ray. Wolfgang would just sound like Wolf-gang (or maybe Woll-fang).
