What names do you like that are completely way out there? I'm sure everyone has them. If names weren't so important and prone to being picked on by children etc, then these names are ones I might have even considered. Some names I don't think are TOO way out there though so may actually end up using them.
I really like the names:
Girl:
Echo
Storm
Sparrow
Rose-Petal
Tigerlily
Meadow
Yuna
Avalon
Wynter
Boy:
Jazz
Felix
River
Forrest
I'm looking forward to reading about other members guilty pleasure names.

Date: 2012-05-31 06:45 pm (UTC)As for boys, Ashley is incredibly popular. When I was at the junior school there were 5 Ashley's just in one of my classes. All of them were boys. I prefer it for a girl, personally. I've never seen it used for a girl's name over here though (Midlands, England).

I have a bunch of other names that some people might think are out there, but I don't. These are the ones that even I have to admit are kind of weird, lol.

Date: 2012-05-31 07:12 pm (UTC)When I was a teenager I wanted to name a girl Empathy (nn Emmy). I still secretly think this name is awesome, even though it totally doesn't fit my current naming style.
There are a number of French names which I like, but our last name is similar to DeVito, and we speak English at home, I don't think we could get away with them. Names like Zéphirine and Maëlys.

Date: 2012-05-31 09:43 pm (UTC)Also on my "probably won't ever use" list are names from fiction, such as any of Tolkien's names, though I once met a little girl named Eowyn and I loved it so much.
Another would be Killashandra; I love it from a book, but I don't think I could get away with it, if only because the nickname would be Killa.

Date: 2012-06-01 06:03 am (UTC)For girls, I secretly (okay, not so secretly now!) love the names:
Chandler
Spencer
Sawyer
Harper
Parker
Emerson
I don't think I have any boy ones... I like common boy names... and haven't put a whole lot of thought into having boys, since I'm convinced that I will have all girls. lol.

Date: 2012-06-01 07:01 am (UTC)I like Sawyer and Spencer for girls. There was a post recently about someone who's considering Sawyer for her maybe-daughter. That was the first time I'd ever considered it, but I think it really works!

Date: 2012-06-01 01:57 pm (UTC)Maisie and Edie. And they are both beautiful names for beautiful girls!
(Their big brother is Cookie... so not really the sort of name you could use on a human and be taken seriously!)

Date: 2012-06-01 02:11 pm (UTC)I also really liked Meadow, but I actually wouldn't pick that one simply because I've met several of them since Sopranos had a girl named Meadow. We actually shoot for less popular names. Of course, since we named them, we've met quite a few other Edens. I had that name picked out since I was a kid. We only met others in our old hippy town though. Here in MO, no other Edens that I know of. I've learned through this comm. that Ivy is apparently really popular now too, though I've not met another one nor heard of it outside of here. I've also always REALLY loved the name Adele, but then that singer had to go get super famous, so it was crossed off our list due to potential over-popularity in the coming years. Made me sad. I'm also a huge Eleanor fan, but I couldn't ever win my hubby over to it.

Date: 2012-06-07 03:14 am (UTC)My mother thinks Cordelia is "out there" for a girl, but I love it as a girl's name. Nobody else in my family does, so I probably won't use it.
