Okay, I have never seen this one before...I looked at the receipt of a customer when they signed a bill: Rise. Female.

Thoughts?

It doesn't sound like a name. It's a verb or a noun, not a name. I don't like it at all.

Not a fan I must say.

I wonder how it's pronounced? If it's pronounced like the word rise that's horrible. It's not too strange if it's a kreative spelling of Reese, although I definitely don't like it. If it's like rice, I remember there was a girl named Rice in one of the Beethoven movies, haha.

I remember that, too. I always wondered why the oldest daughter got stuck with a name like Rice when the other two kids were named Emily and...Jason, I think? It's been a while.

Even better, the character's name was spelled Ryce, with a Y! Whoever wrote that screenplay was clearly 20 years ahead of his or her time!

I had a customer for several years when I worked in banking who's name was Rise - pronounced Reese in her case. Can't say I'm a fan, but oddly enough I have seen it before.

When I first saw it, I thought it was a nickname for Cherise or Cerise. Or pronounced w/ a spanish accent like Ree-say.

But rise like the sun will rise is kind of interesting too.

Many years ago a classmate of mine had that name. She was Jewish and she pronounced it Rees-ah (to rhyme with Lisa.)

Any chance that's Reese? Not that I approve, but...
