Duets Host

Last night the new singing competition Duets premiered, and the host is a man named Quddus.  Pronounced kind of like Kuh-Doose.

I had never heard of him, but I looked him up and he's a Canadian MTV VJ.  His full name is Benjamin Quddus Philippe.

I'd also never heard of the name itself before.  Personally, I think it's a little weird and makes me think of the word "caboose."  WDYT?

I remember Quddus, he was on TRL in the US too... I remember initially thinking his name was weird but he's really charismatic so you kinda forget it.

I LOVED Quddus way back when he was part of the MuchMusic VJ search and lost to Bradford How. It sucked he wasn't really on Canadian TV after that but I'm glad that I finally get to see him again all these years later.

I always really liked his name and thought it suited him. Never really questioned it. I honestly thought Bradford was a "weirder" name tbh.

Referring to this guy's name: Quddus was named after a prominent early Baha'i figure (his name means "the most holy" in Arabic and Persian).
