babynamesHow do you pronounce the name Evelyn? I never even considered that there was more than one pronunciation, but then yesterday I went to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (it was really good) and Judi Dench's character was named Evelyn, pronounced like "Eve-lyn," two syllables.
I've only ever heard it pronounced with three syllables, closer to "Ev-uh-lyn."
I don't actually care for the name, I'm just now wondering what pronunciation is more common and popular.
