[identity profile] r0ck-y0ur-s0ul.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

Sorry to post again so quickly but I just found out another baby girl is on the way (this one is the niece of a friend).

Name will be: Auden Claire

Thoughts? I actually kind of love it.

I love it. But I named my son after the W in W. H. Auden so I'm probably not the average person on this. ;)

There's one I haven't seen: Wystan. I like it. :)

Rhymes with Tristan. Other than a few people who've tried to make it "WHY-stan?" it's been a universal hit so far (he's 12 weeks old).

I'm not a fan of Tristan, but I do like Wystan a lot! I knew what the W. H. stood for, but I haven't seen it anywhere other than Auden. Then again, I'm the one that wants to name my firstborn (boy or girl) Eliot or Poe.

Eliot was a top candidate for us too. And Whitman and Keats were also on the list. If a close friend hadn't named their son Elliot 2 years ago, who knows? But now of course I can't picture him as anything other than a Wystan. <3 Thanks for the kind words.

Oh, I completely understand. My sister just named her second daughter Emma, which I am not really a fan of because of its popularity, but now that she is here, Emma is perfect for my second little bundle of love. :)

Auden is a boys name, IMO.

I normally don't like names that I don't know how to pronounce when I see them.

In some parts of the world. Over here it would be Or-den.

I like it. Makes me think of the character in Sarah Dessen's Along for the Ride. I think it works well because the middle name is very feminine.

Too masculine. Love Claire, though.
