Okay, my husband and I are stuck on which second middle name flows the best and I'd like your suggestions. Here are the options for our son, due in five weeks...

Calvin Mark Courtland Brewer
Calvin Mark Lewis Brewer

I added our last name because that's part of my concern, lol. First off, I should mention that both middle names are namesakes. My father Mark passed away last week after a year-long battle with kidney cancer. My husband's grandfather (Courtland Lewis) passed away a year ago. So these names are set... no additional suggestions needed. My husband's concern with Courtland is the fact that our son will have two "C" names. My concern with Lewis is the double "ew" sound between that and Brewer. We just can't decide which sounds better. I'll be honest, I prefer the name Courtland over Lewis, so I think it sounds better in my head because I want it to. So I need unbiased opinions, lol.

In general I like Lewis better, but I think in this case, Courtland does sound better.

First off, I'm sorry for your losses. *hugs*

Regarding the name, Courtland has been one of my favourite names from the first time I heard it. That aside, I think it has a better flow. It's two C names but they aren't side by side so it sounds really nice. You're right about the "ew" sound which I find a little difficult to say.

I like the name Courtland better than Lewis. The K in Mark and C in Courtland feels more akward than than the Lewis and Brewer.

I think that they both sound nice, and how often are you going to say his full name out loud anyway? Personally, I prefer Courtland as it's a more unusual than Lewis.

I think I prefer Courtland to Lewis, too (I prefer the spelling Louis for first and middle names, anyway). Two C names seems okay here because the "Mark" separates the two. It flows much better than if it were just "Calvin Courtland."

I wouldn't worry about two C name's if you use Courtland because Mark is breaking the two names up. It'd be different if it were Calvin Courtland. I think Calvin Mark Courtland Brewer sounds nice.

I think Lewis flows better. Having the K sound in Calvin, Mark, and Courtland is awkward, especially since Mark ends in the sound and Courtland begins with it. I agree with the poster who said that full names are rarely said out loud, though, so either name is fine.

I like Courtland better. I definitely think it's easier to say than the double "ew" sound... plus, it's a cooler name.

I love the Courtland combo best. I think the two C's actually work in his favor, it gives it a nice sound and flow ,and keeps it from being monotonous with that added flair. I find Calvin Mark Courtland Brewer to be a charming name!

It's a second middle name. Flow can be important, but in this case I don't really think that the alliteration is that big a deal and would just go with whichever name you prefer.
