Would you believe my husband just in all seriousness suggested "Barbas" as a boy name? Eldred and Rainer also. Wolfgang is the only one I even remotely would consider, but it would be paired with Amadeus just like Mozart. Vast difference in Wolfgang Amadeus to Theodore Ambrose and Gabriel (Beauregard/Hollis) isn't there?

What would you think if you saw a kid named Wolfgang?

Edit to update: He got Barbas from the immortal dog in Skyrim. It's master is Clavicus Vile. Just....UGH!

I'd think that child's parents were trying to special snowflake it up.

That's kind of a lot to live up to, don't you think? I'm a musician, and I don't think I could ever name a kid after a composer. AND Mozart is one that we teach kids about reeeeeally early in music classes, so I have to think there would be some teasing there too.

Seconding the reference to Wolfgang Puck too, though. I would probably think of that first, to be honest, because I think "Mozart" waaaay before I think "Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart." (Oh! And Wolfgang Puck is a famous chef...saw you asked that! :) )

I don't know if I've mentioned this in your past posts, but I am loving Theodore Ambrose...they're each okay names, but together they're fantastic! :D

I would not be able to get the Mozart reference out of my head, especially if paired with Amadeus. That would be beyond distracting.

Wolfgang is one of my most detested names.

When I did a genealogical record on Ancestry.com earlier this year I had a lot of male relatives named Barbas. This was in the 1500's though.

I like the nn Wolfe. :) Or maybe even Wolfie.

(In my head I hear Barbas as Barb-Ass. Not good.)

I recognized Barbas straight off. How many times do you encounter a talking dog? He was pretty freaking sweet! That being said, I probably wouldn't use it as a name. XD

I know a grown man from my home town called Wolfgang. The town only has 900 people so he's typical a typical man's man, 4-wheelers, skidoos, rub some dirt in it, drive a Hummer into a lake by accident sort of guy. He's the only thing I can think of and I'd probably expect the child to be just as rough and tumble.

While I am a huge fan of Mozart, I'm a bigger fan of the name Amadeus than Wolfgang. And I think together it might be a tad much.

I still love Theodore Ambrose and Gabriel though :)

I'm rather fond of Rainer. But my husband used it as a character in the novel he was working on when we started dating, so it's always had a special place for me. (I know you have settled on your names from a later post, just sayin ;)
