Today I met an adult woman named Diamond

WDYT?

Personally, I think it's one of those names that really doesn't age well.

I'm pretty sure the one name that won't age well is the girl of one of my classmates: Germany. She told me she named her child germany.

That is an interesting name choice. I can only think of how my brother met his best friend, Jeremy, in the first grade, and he came home and told us, "I played with Germany today."

Sort of funny: for a while I wanted to use Berlin as a middle name. My friend was like "Berlin, like Germany?" haha.

When I was in the tenth grade, the leaders I worked with in the local Spark unit decided we needed special names for the girls to call us (we call them camp names), and we let the girls pick. I ended up with Diamond and it was horrible. I was stuck with it for four years before I finally changed my camp name to River. I would never give a kid of mine a name like Diamond (though my name is Amber and I love it, so I'm not against all stone names). I don't think Diamond works even for a child.

When I was a high school senior I helped with a second grade class and there was a girl named Diamond there. I assume she would be a junior or senior by now... In the area I lived, that name isn't all that "stand out" though.

I should add I in no way like the name. The girl was plenty nice enough, but her mother gave her a stripper name. So sad. There's a handful of Destiny's, Princess's, and Diamond's in my area.

I'm so sorry, but Diamond sounds like a stripper name to me. My best friend named her dog Diamond and even then the first thought was "You named your dog after a stripper".

I'm not hating on all stone names, but really I just can't hack Diamond.

I think one would depend on the person. You know, like how sometimes you meet a person with an uncommon/unusual name and it just fits?

It's not a people name, imo. Maybe for one of those designer dogs, like a yorkipoo or something.

I knew a Diamond, and her sister was Pearl.

The only stone names I really like are Emerald & Jade, but I'd never use them.

Haha this reminds me of my 6 year old niece who told me to name my baby (if it's a girl) Sparkle ...

I'm sure she's a perfectly lovely person, but stripper is the first thing that comes to mind.
